Hi all My great grandfather was born in Selkirk 1899, in 1915 he joined up to the ASC (Army service cor) he was a corporal. BUT he was also at sometime in the Gordon Highlanders and the Black watch as well. I haven't been able to find his service records for the ASC but my question is, would he have...

Yes Stanley Whyte Gordon was their son born in 1917, they also had Evelyn Whyte Gordon and Florence Whyte Gordon.

Hi Andrew Thanks for all your help. I have searched for a birth for him but cant find anything unfortunately. Whats an irregular marriage? I thought every marriage had to be registered by law even in them days? If it was irregular does that mean there is know hope of finding his parents?

Thanks for looking, the 1911 census says they had been married for 2 years so it must be around the 1909 mark, just done another search without the place added but still nothing im afraid x
