Burial records search

Hi,

I'm searching for family burials in Glasgow area, but as the Mitchell Family History Centre is closed it means that this avenue for searching is not available.

Can anybody suggest another way to check,

Many Thanks

Ships to Ireland from Glasgow

Hello, my grandfather, John Hannigan, who was born in Glasgow, was taken to Letterkenny as a little boy to live with his mother's family. The family name is Rodden. I have him with the family on the 1901 and 1911 census. I'm trying to find out about the ship that he would have travelled out on and b...

Re: Searching for Italian name

Hi Missie, I've just picked up your information on the family on this site. It's really great to have the have all of this information, and to know where they came from. The fact that they were into the arts makes sense, as it has come down the ages, to four of us, in the present day :) I had follow...

Hi Harry,

Thank you for the information. I know the Mitchell is undergoing some form of renovation internally at the moment.

Glasgow Burial Request

Hi,

I had e-mailed Trongate offices yesterday to ask for help with information of family burials. I've had an e-mail back from them this afternoon to say that all burial information has been digitised and is available at the Mitchell Library.

Re: Searching for Italian name

Hi, My thanks to Lesley B, and to Alan. I had seen the Pinterest page, but it doesn't belong to me :-). Thank you Alan for the story on John. That was one I had missed, from everything I've read on them so far, I really like them. I've tried all of the websites on Italian surnames, but no joy so far...

Searching for Italian name

Hi, much to my surprise I've found an Italian name, whilst searching my dad's side of the family. The name I've uncovered is Caesar Altria. He was born in 1771, in the 1841 census he is shown as being born in "foreign parts". The family lived in Aberdeen, and they are noted in directories as optical...
