My first reaction, is the abbreviated reference No on census pages, makes it impossible to determine family groupings , a feature i probably used more than anything to get as much free info as possible prior to ordering.NUTS!

Thanks jgmills for your comment. The intent of my facetious comment about 100 years was to say that everybody, including Scotlands People, knew that after 100 years the census can be made public, so they had plenty of time to plan .I did not mention the internet , which has been around considerably ...

Definitely disappointing, to put it mildly. But I guess they have only had 100 years to plan for this , so give them some more time. Maybe the folks at Free Cen can help out. I like Wilma's suggestion about volunteer help. Since we all work at home anyway Covid wont keep us back!

Hi Anne, the Search is a bit laborious, but if you have approx. dates and have agood idea of which cemetery it is not too bad. I found 14 relatives , parents, grandparents and grt grandparents among others in Eastern, Riddrie and Sighthill cemeteries.

Problem solved. While on vacation in UK I had to change my password since I had forgotten it. My fault, and yet I would think that the program would have told me I was entering the wrong password , instead of just sitting there saying nothing. Not user friendly.So back to my research
