Hi Annette,
She died in Galashiels 29/01/1863 aged 63 her married name was Bruce.
She also appears on the 1861 census in Galashiels. I do not see to have the 1841 or 1851 census for her (I thought I did search) Thats now on my "to-do" list

Regards

...long shot but any chance Euphemia might have survived until after 1855 and is there any chance her death informant might have given a bit more details on her father's occupation. Maybe worth a look if you have not covered this angle already. Hi Lesley, I have just checked her death entry...and s...

Peter Ballantyne, Manufacturer, Glasgow before 1828?

I am looking for details for Peter Ballantyne who was a manufacturer in Glasgow. On his daughters (Euphemia Boyd Ballantyne) OPR record for her marriage to John Bruce in 26-05-1828 it stated that he was manufacturer in Glasgow and was deceased. Does anyone know how I can find out what he manufacture...

Hi McBrucie When you click on a persons name and you are seeing the page that gives the details (as you have pasted in above), at the top right of the page there is a wee photo of a page to click on. It says something like (just off to check)....hang on.....it's gone. The option to view the image i...

Hi McBrucie All you can see is the original scan of the INDEX, not the actual birth, marriage or death entry. It is pretty much the same as the way things work with English records on sites such as freebmd ...once you have the place of registration, the year (or "quarter" in later years) volume and...
