Re: George Sutherland McKay (Born 6 April 1917, Aberdeen)

They were living at Essex Street in London in 1938.

I saw it days ago but the McNab put me off till I looked at the marriage index on SP.

Search for Agnes McNab Mackay on Ancestry.

Annette

Re: Can't find birth record

Hi Jody, Very complicated right enough. I feel your pain trying to piece all the info together. Not much luck with George Francis's birth but I did find a record of Annie King's death at the IGI :( Name Anna M. Manning Event Type Death Event Date 02 May 1929 Event Place New York City, Queens, New Yo...

Re: Thomson, William

In 1935 at 5 Harmony Row there was a Mrs Alice M P Thomson and John Thomson. As well as a William in 1935 there was a James Thomson at 100 Harmony Row. In 1936 James is on his own at 100 Harmony Row. So a fair chance that the William who died in 1936 is the one who stayed at 100 Harmony Row. Regards...

Oh good, so many possible variations on all her names!

So she had been marrired to the McRory/McGrory/McRorie chap then?
I'm not sure Wilma but I'm not too worried as my interest is the daughter she had with David Ballantine.

Annette

Re: Can't find death

Hi Wilma, I knew fresh eyes would help. :D As soon as I saw it I knew the Christina McRorie/Adam was right. There is no mention of David Ballantine but I know it is her because her sister registered the death. She died on Christmas Day :( at Govan Poorhouse so hopefully I can her application. Many t...

Can't find death

I'm not having any luck finding the death of Christina Adam(s) born around 1820 in Govan. I have found her on census records up until 1861 where she is with her family at 19 Albert St, Govan. I don't think she was ever married to David or the father of John and James Mc(g)rory David Balintine 55 bor...

Re: Accuracy of certificates

On any Glasgow poorhouse applications the applicant gives his/her parents' names, place of birth and if they are living when they are the pauper or sick person. Sometimes it is a relative who applies for them to be admitted and in that case I think they would supply the information. Regards, Annette
