Re: Mary Sutherland/Sandison
Hi, thanks for your reply. It looks like the birth I had was the wrong one. When I looked again I realised the birth only stated a father's name, and once I'd searched again I came up with another birth, again with only the father's name, but this time in 1817, which tallys with all the other ages I...

Mary Sutherland/Sandison
Hi, I really hope somebody can help me with this. I have Mary Sutherland that married William Sandison Feb 27th 1834 in Latheron, Caithness. I have a death for Mary, July 27th 1892, Halkirk, Caithness, which states her parents are Robert Sutherland and Elizabeth Stout. In 1891 she is recorded as liv...

Hi everyone, I'm so thrilled, cos after a long time searching I have found my Grandads uncle. I knew he had died in WW1, but there were so many James Boyds to search through that it was going to waste way too much money!! Now, thanks to Ancestry's free military records I've found him! I'm so pleased...

Just wanted to say a big Thank You to you all. I'm so pleased to finally have found Alexander and Annie! It just never occurred to me to search for them without the 's' on the end of their name. #-o You'd think that I'd have remembered some of the search tips that I've read on this site ...

Alexander Kellas 1901 Census .....
I'm really stuck with this one. I can't find my Alexander Kellas, or his wife Ann, on the 1901 census at all. I have tried all the possibles, and even some older and younger, but have come up with nothing! Here's what I know, ALEXANDER KELLAS born 1872 Glenlivet, Banff. Married ANN MACLENNAN MCDONAL...

Hi Lesley, Wow, thats really spooky! What are the chances of that? I'd still love a photo, thanks. Do you know of a way to find out if old records still exist? My gg grandmother was classed as a lunatic on the 1901 census, somewhere in Inverness. Presumably some sort of hospital as there were lots o...
