Re: Irish BDM registrations

Hi Billymac, It's very possible that we have already communicated. I have not been very active on the boards for a number of years now, so I have forgotten a lot of my contacts and the details. I am only just dabbling here and there at the moment. I found my interest was hard to maintain after my fa...

Re: Irish BDM registrations

Hello again Elwyn, I believe you are exactly correct. Based on what you said I obtained the image and that 1927 Margaret McEntee death occurred in Eshnadarragh townland which is quite close to Eshywulligan townland. The death was registered by a nephew, James McAloon also of Eshnadarragh and notes ...

Re: Newspaper reports of recent events

Hi Alan, Thanks so much for your post. I did try to create a membership with the NSW library, but no go as I don't live in NSW. I was able to create an account with the NLS but can't look at anything because I am not a resident of Scotland. There doesn't seem to be access at the Victorian state libr...

Re: Newspaper reports of recent events

Thanks Wilma and Andrew, Wilma, yes I did google but to no avail! Perhaps it never made the papers due to its delicate subject matter. Or it could have been seen to be upsetting for those involved. Thanks for looking Andrew - that is a good site, though limited a bit. Nothing showed up on the date. ...

Newspaper reports of recent events

Hi everyone, A long time between requests, haha, but I do read here often. I have an event that I think might have been reported on in 2004. It was rather a tragic event. Is there anywhere I can search online? Or is there anyone willing to take a look at the Glasgow papers for me? I don't want to pu...

Re: My Birth Certificate

Thank you all so much for replying.

I am glad I asked about this as I may have tried to get the 'proper' certificate, but it looks like that is what I have.

We're very lucky to be Scottish, I think!

Re: My Birth Certificate

Hi there Wilma! Nice to see you're still here too! Thank you so much for the detailed reply. Mine sounds the same, except that it refers to the 1965 act at the bottom. After it was rejected it was revised by someone else, and she said it was absolutely fine with it. Whew! I was stressing, as having ...

My Birth Certificate

Hello everyone! It's been an age since I wrote here but I am still around, reading posts here and there and researching, but much slower than once I did. This is mostly because of work and also because I have run out of most things to look for in Scotland. I am asking about information regarding my ...
