Re: Moonwatcher

Arthur: Thank you for posting the sad news of Moonwatcher's passing. Moonwatcher's posts were always friendly, on target and helpful. His stories, both funny and touching, create a great vision of life in 'Glesca' and were very well received; and in their own right prompted much discussion and stirr...

Nice find, Ina. Irish records can be pretty sketchy, and there you are finding 2 for the price of none  =D>

Re: New Zealand Records

Hello Orlaith:

Don't really have anything to offer, but have you looked through NZ sources shown on this page http://talkingscot.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=21 ? Might be helpful until someone with more direct knowledge comes along.

Re: Ernest Russell Lyon ( 1923-1944)

Very nice of you to extend an invitation to TS members who might be in the neighbourhood. As one of the onlookers, it has been very interesting to follow your efforts to have Russell's gravesite recognized. What determination and dedication! Hopefully, you will also share some pictures of the event....

Also, have you checked the Catholic records on ScotlandsPeople? I have found surprises in my own research that speaks to a lot of back-and-forth when it comes to religion. It may be worth a try.

Shamefully over the top. Cost recovery is one thing, but that fee is WAAAAY beyond the pale!
