That's what TalkingScot is all about :D I amended your e-mail address so it wouldn't be picked up by the spammers. You could use the PM (personal message) syste...

Re: Turley/Torley Family Help Needed

Hi
On the right of each of Maggie's post there are two icons. One labelled PM (personal message) the other - an envelope - allows you to e-mail her.

Re: storage etc

Hi there I think you are in the same dilemma that all of us have fallen into  :( There is no 'right' way to do it and it can reach a stage where even the good system you started out with is no longer meeting your needs. My wife has all her paper certificates organised by family in plastic poc...

Re: Help with place name

Hi Geoff Don't rule out McGillivrie as a possibility either. There are over 25 possible spellings for the name and there are quite a few in your area. We discovered a relative who was listed as McGilvray but his gaelic record showed him as McGilvra on the gaelic speaking Isle of Colonsay. It all dep...

Re: Henry John Simpson and Jane Hogg.....

Hi David and a warm [welcome] to TalkingScot. Neither Val or Katie have visited here since 2010 but if they still have the same e-mail address(es) your post will be notified to them. I hope so as this is a tale with a few hidden twists and turns. I'd keep my fingers crossed but it interferes with my...

Re: Andrew Philip?

Hi Meg
Like Andrew I enlarged the image and was able to compare the enumerators 5's. He was remarkably consistent with them.
Too bad he doesn't fit the bill :(
