Ancestor death Queensland
Hoping someone can advise. My great aunt died in Dundee in 1937 and was listed as a widow on death certificate. But for years I was unable to find a death for her husband. But I recently found he had actually died in Australia 25fh Jan 1936, aged 58, so just the year before she died. I have been tra...

Re: Baby death
Thanks Andrew, that was my thinking. I cant see details online of the birth as it was too recent. But the birth is registered and the baby has the correct christian and surname I was told. I tried leaving the christian name off the death search and widened it out to cover 20 years after the birth in...

Baby death
I have recently found out that my grandmother gave birth to a baby in 1930 but the baby died. I found a birth registration for the child, but cannot find a death registration. If the baby died very shortly after being born, would the death have been registered as well as the birth in Scottish record...

Re: Adoption
Thanks, Wilma. I originally contacted the researcher in Ancestry when I saw the names. I made contact as there were some wildly innaccurate details in the tree regarding relationships, though names and dates were correct. I made contact to offer to provide accurate info. They told me they were resea...

Adoption
Long post, sorry. I discovered there was someone in Ancestry researching to help an adoptee find birth family. Most names in the researchers tree matched names in my tree. Recently whilst researching in Scotlands People record office for births came across name in births but unable to see certificat...

Re: Naval graves
Wilma, thank you once again. I just looked at CWGC link you sent above and yes, the stones I saw are certainly asmiralty markers. I had no idea the CWGC used so many different styles of markers, though I knew about the flat ones in Boulogne cemetery as my great uncle is buried there. I am planning t...

Re: Naval graves
Thank you Wilma. The Suffolk page link images down about 12th or 13th pics are of stones exactly the same as the ones I am asking about. Looks like they were all for young boys, but some of the ones in cemetery here were older; 29, 35, 41. Youngest listed was “Boy, First Class, aged 16”. There were ...

Re: Naval graves
Thank you for replies folks. Andrew, inscription does look similar to top one in link you sent. I think it looks like Greek reference toJesus from brief research I did. Currie, I am not sure these are actually war graves as none of the deaths seem to have occurred during WW1 or WW1. I was confused b...

Naval graves
I was visiting a local cemetery recently taking photos of Commonwealth graves when I spotted some unusual ones amongst them. All are naval. Some are dated between WW1and WW2 but some are earlier. Earliest death is 1905. Ship he died on was named HMS Cornwallis. I have looked up names of all of the s...
