Not very encouraging for the inventive capacity of the human race, is it?

I hope that my various combinations of ancestors names/initials and their dates of birth/death or obscure village origins will not be cracked too easily (as far as I know, I don't have any princesses born in 1234).

All the best,
Sarah

Great stuff Alan!

Mine are positively dull by comparison. Note to self - must change to 'password' ! =D>

That would certainly be a relevant password, Scott

Seems my '123abc' hasn't been cracked yet! :-

My cover is blown. I thought I was being pretty smart in choosing "password". I'm just common I suppose. Could this be the reason why there is never any cash in my bank account. By the way, how is it that you are so familiar with others passwords anyway.

Unbelievable!

Thanks for the link to that report, Alan. As they recommend, my passwords for banking, shopping, etc... sites where money or personal information is involved are satisfyingly obscure "made up combos".

However, I do have to confess that I am a little guilty of using the same password for some less "critical" sites  It is made up of an alpha and numeric combo, but I really shouldn't keep using it!

Hi
123456 is also, reputedly, the result which will give the lowest payout for first prize in the lottery.
