Writing a Family History Blog

Post by chiddicks » Sat Aug 26, 2017 9:16 am

I have decided to start writing a family history blog to record my own family tree, to promote interest in our hobby, and to hopefully find people with similar interests to my own. I have shared the links below. Any comments and feed back are most welcome, both positive and negative. Please feel free to comment on the blog pages as well.

I have also started writing a blog for Family History Magazine, see link below

Keyes in Prittlewell
Wootton in Herefordshire and London
Stampa in Edinburgh
Jack in Glasgow

Google was the beginning of my family history addiction. I googled my father's name and discovered he had a half-sister. I also met a third cousin who lived in the house his grandfather had built in 1921, and found our family relatives in the USA via an online obituary.

Revealing family secrets is a trait of google. Research has become so very different in the 21st century, although many of my searches were based on a series of family notes written by my grandmother's sister over 50 years ago.

Enjoyed your article - thanks

Trish

Thanks Trish your comments are much appreciated.

I can remember researching for school projects in the Library, that seems a lifetime ago, now the whole world is literally at the end of the "enter" button.

I have added an Italian blog today also.......
