They refunded me five credits and then when I tried again to view the page it was still the wrong one.
I will keep trying, as I have no doubt we will get it right eventually

SP usually send the correct image by email - was there an attachment with the refund email?

The image on SP will not normally be updated for many months, often more than a year, depending when they are doing their updates.

I contacted S.P. again and this morning I recieved an apology and the attachment.
Unfortunately my browser would not let me open it, but that's not a real problem,
I just send it to the "Boss's" machine and he can open it no problem.
I will be able to read it as soon as he gets out of the shower.
Best regards

I sent another post yesterday, but it seems not to have arrived?

It was just to say that as I had been advised, there were no parent's names for either James or Mary,
only the names of two witnesses, neither of which I recognised.

So it looks like I will have to stick with William Richmond and Sarah Bond for James, unless I can prove otherwise,
and I have no idea how to find out who Mary McEachen' parents were.

I still prefer James and Thomasin Hool/Hull

Have you tried to get her death certificate?

I know what you mean Sarah, it would be lovely if he named his daughter after his mother, but William and Sarah did have a son called James born in 1813 (which fits in with his age on the census). There is no record (it seems) for for Jacob and Thomasin having a James born in any year.

On the subject of Mary McEachen, no I haven't tried for her death certificate . (Good thinking 99).
I'll get right on to it, while I have credits with S.P.
Best regards

Got it! She died in Glasgow of heart disease in 1885. Not only that her parents were Donald McEachen and Flora McInnes, which makes her mother one of the witnesses at her wedding. (Named as Mrs McInnes)
Moving on again!

=D>

What was Donald's occupation according to Mary's death certificate? If he was a tailor then this looks like the family in 1841 and 1851:

1841
Polintan, Ardnamurchan, Inverness
Donald Mceachen, 50, born Inverness, Tailor
Flora Mceachen, 40, born Inverness
Angus Mceachen, 25, born Inverness
Batchie Mceachen, 15, born Inverness (Ancestry transcription  probably Rachel, as in the 1851 census)
Lewis Mceachen, 10, born Inverness

1851
23 Boundaries of Way, Ardnamurchan, Inverness
Donald MacEachen, 62, Head, born Ardnamurchan, Inverness, Tailor
Flora MacEachen, 60, Wife, born Ardnamurchan, Inverness
Lewis MacEachen, 22, Son, born Ardnamurchan, Inverness, Fisher
Rachel Mceachen, 24, Daughter, born Ardnamurchan, Inverness, General Servant
Isabella Mceachen, 26, Daughter, born Ardnamurchan, Inverness, Herring Fisher's Wife

It looks like both Donald and Flora lived into the Statutory Register period and so their death certificates should give you the names of their parents and allow you to go back another generation on both sides \:D/

All the best,
Sarah

Sarah! Thank You!
That was brilliant!
When I got the names I immediately started looking for Donald & Flora, but without any luck.
You have given me something else to work on now.
Thank You - Thank You
Best regards
