Writing Your Own Story

Post by chiddicks » Sat Oct 10, 2020 12:32 pm

We spend so much time documenting our Ancestors and going back in time, that recently I decided to document my own life story, apologies it will be boring for some, but its more about documenting things about ourselves before its too late!

I asked my children where did I work when I first left school and neither of them knew the answer, so this prompted my story.

If nothing else, I hope this might prompt us to write about ourselves a bit more.

Your recollection of the juice bottles and collecting the deposits for the empties reminded me of my journeys home from high school; same era as you. Our walk home often took us through a local hospital. Outside of the ward buildings there would often be a collection of empty Lucozade or Ribena bottles waiting on collection. We helped and collected them; they were worth 5 pence each back at the local grocers. A few of these in the week and you were off to the chip shop on a Friday night. :D

All the best,

AndrewP

Thanks Andrew, far simpler times and far simpler needs.
