Enoch Whitehall DOB 1877
His parents were called Pharoah Whitehall and Catherine Orridge. Did he marry and who did he marry and when and where did he die?
Re: Enoch Whitehall DOB 1877
HI jjlmary312
Where have you looked? We are happy to give you pointers of where to look for this information. I take it this is in England - try http://www.freebmd.org.uk
It is a free site. As he has an unusual name, (I wish my lot had such unusual name combinations!) you should be able to find the information you are looking for.
Best wishes
Lesley

Re: Enoch Whitehall DOB 1877
Hi,
I have tried free bmd records but the ages and places of death do not tally. Thinking of joining ancestory.

Hi jjlmary312
Do you mean the ages and places of death for Enoch? That is likely to be a quite separate search to the one for his marriage, and a death certificate in England is not going to confirm the names of his parents nor give the name of his wife unless she was the informant - best to build up the picture bit at a time.
If you have his birth, I'd suggest following him though the census years e.g. 1881 (probably at home with parents - free on http://www.familysearch.org), 1891 (he was possibly still at home) 1901 (possibly away from home, possibly married??) etc.
Best wishes
Lesley

If you look at the deaths on FreeBMD - there are only three with that name, and doing some arithmetic, there is one which looks to be a very likely candidate.I have tried free bmd records but the ages and places of death do not tally.

Re: Enoch Whitehall DOB 1877
You can easily follow the family through FreeBDM as mentioned by Lesley. To make it even more definite, I checked the 1911 census (you can check the 1911 census index on find my past - no charge - you may have to register - using the free searches you can find family groups)
1911 Census - Enoch Whitehall aged 35 born Westmelton living with his wife Emma aged 30. There are sons Joseph 15 and Abraham 12 living with them & wife Emma says she has been married 9 years with 5 children, 4 living. These are the other 4 children on the census.
It would thus seem that Enoch married twice. In 1901 Joseph aged 5 is with his grandparents, while Abraham is listed as adopted and living with a Priscilla and Arthur Hunt.
From Freebdm (linked by Lesley) Priscilla Whitehall marrying Arthur Hunt is on the same page of the register as Enoch Whitehall and Kate Whitehall - so presumably Enoch married Dec 1895 kate Whitehall.
There is a death on Freebdm for Kate Whitehall, aged 30 at an appropriate date.
In Dec 1901, at Dudley district, Staffordshire, Enoch married Emma Whitehall (on 1911 census Emma says she was born in Rowley Regis, Staffordshire.) Presumably Enoch was a close or distant relative to both his wives - who may have been related to each other.
The most obvious death for Enoch is the one mentioned by Lesley on FreeBDM
From West Yorkshire burials there is a burial at South Elmsall St Mary the Virgin
died May 19 buried May 23 Enoch Whitehall age 75

Re: Enoch Whitehall DOB 1877
Hi Trish
Where did you find the West Yorkshire burial information - just wondered if it was on a site of it's own or is it a part of a larger collectiion such as Ancestry/FMP? jjlmary312 may wish to go and look it up and it may also be of use to other TS members.
Best wishes

Hi Lesley,
The West Yorkshire records are on Ancestry. May be other places too, but I know they are there.
Best wishes,
Sarah

Re: Enoch Whitehall DOB 1877
This is where I found it also - not sure if Family Search has it - I'm still having trouble with the new family search & tend to look there last. The baptisms of a couple of the children to Enoch & Emma are also on Ancestry. The Staffordshire marriage and births may be here http://www.staffordshirebmd.org.uk/SarahND wrote:Hi Lesley,

Edit: This is the note on ancestry about the records
Original data: Yorkshire Parish Records. West Yorkshire Archive Service: Leeds, England.
