Calderwoods somewhere in England .....

I am trying to find where my 2nd great grandfather was born and where his family lived. His name William Calderwood circa 1830 his father John Calderwood mother Sarah Galt both circa 1800. This is all the information I have it is from his death certificate. When he died in Glasgow 1900 he was 71 years of age an Army Pensioner, his job before he retired was Engine Fitter Journeyman he married Ann Mead from Ireland. They had three children I know of Sarah, Elizabeth and William I believe they may also have been born in England probally when he was in the Army.

This is 1841 English census still no William. Maybe it isnt the right family but it s the only John and Sara combination ive found

Thanks for the quick reply it is possible that the John and Sarah you have found could be them if the dates are their birth date. I would think John 1796 Ireland Wigton Cumberland could be My John
Sarah Calderwood abt 1801 Cumberland, England Wigton Cumberland could be my Sarah if they are both in the same household.

They had three children I know of Sarah, Elizabeth and William

Do you know roughly when these three were born to help narrow the search down a bit ?

Hi Tracey,

I do not have any dates for the children except that Elizabeth was born circa 1865, Sarah circa 1858 sorry but that is from a census in Glasgow for Sarah and Elizabeth death certificate only gives age but not sure if they are correct

Update,
Found my Calderwoods in Greenwich William joined army and married there 1850 then went to the Crimean war they eventually settled in Glasgow around 1880
