Glad I didn't have all that to put on every day - I'd never have gotten anywhere on time!

I'm glad there was a "revolution" in the '60s and we've lost all those layers and bones.

Don't think about the wearers - Think about the lassies who actually sewed them together; and the whalers who went out into the cold waters to bring back the whalebone for the stays.

They were more likely to be your ancestors and these styles kept them employed.
