Thanks for the reminder - I may do that. I was on Irish Origins a good while back but at that time I think they only had an index to GV. If they actually have scanned records that would be fantastic.

Hi Jenny
I was interested to see what the position was, and it appears from their blurb on the web site they do have more than just the index:
So for the first time users of the new web edition can be sure that they have all the source material at hand in one place. Users are to search a complete database of personal and place names, and then access scanned images of the original published pages.
Best wishes
Lesley

Hi Lesley,
Aye, they said that - I did pay up and explored, earlier today.
They have the full info from the valuation records, including scans. But - there is a wee line at the bottom of everything that says that they don't have the maps for the Northern Ireland counties!

So I'm a bit fed up, right now!

Aye, there's room... what a swiz, eh?

They do have some good stuff there and I suppose it is still value (for a month, as long as I unsubscribe before that - I couldn't do three days because of work pressures tomorrow). But really the maps are what makes the valuation worth it!

However, I've found that the two McLoughlins in Craigs are right next to each other and leasing from the same landlord, and I think that one is mine, with a bit of land, and the other with no land maybe a younger brother... but really want the map to see whereabouts they are.

Aha!
Fantastic - thanks! :)

But I'm getting a message saying
"Unfortunately, we do not have a map covering that area (Map ID Antrim%20hjpeg/h_antrim_026)available at present.
Please click the 'close' link at top right to close this popup area."
:(

I suspect that they don't have the NI maps yet... but it does imply that they may be there at some point...

I like the sentence that this work was undertaken to keep the material in the public domain. Yay! :D

They have the NI maps for Fermanagh, or at least the area of it that I am interested in. What a sahme the Antrim maps you need are not yet there.
Hope it won't be long till it is complete - it seems to be very new and they do say it is "in progress". Things are definately looking up! :D

Best wishes

That's good news that they have the Fermanagh ones. The Irish Origins people don't have any NI at all... Actually I'm quite hopeful that Antrim will be there soon, because they seem to have map numbers in place - antrim_026 and antrim_030 being the ones I wanted most.

I did a test with a couple of places in Down and got. "Unfortunately, there is no map information available for this record and we are unable to display a map." Another Antrim place gave that too. But the Armagh and Tyrone ones I clicked on seem to be there - and Derry ones I've tested and these Antrim ones I need have map numbers. So I'm very hopeful that they are appearing one after the other! :)

I'll keep watching... in the meantime, back to searching the valuation...
