Hi
I am doing my husband’s family tree His great grandfather Thomas Wray Hutchison was born Londonderry 1871, he joined city of Glasgow police in 1891, his father Charles died I think in Antrim Londonderry his mother Mary Jane Nee Quigg died at 142 Watt st Glasgow on 13/10/1915, his brother Charles was informant for mother he lived 192 Waddell st Glasgow in 1915. Thomas Wray died 16/5/1952 at 6 Clark st Glasgow it was suicide. I have a James b 5/11/1865 the year his parent’s married in Londonderry, Mary Anne 18/9/1869, William 17/12/1871, Joseph 17/12/1871, Thomas Wray 1871 (can't find his birth record). William 15/8/1875 (first one may have died) Charles b? (Can’t find his birth record). They are all born Coleraine Londonderry. Can anybody find them in a census? Am going to Mitchell library next week to look at police records may find out more there.
Any help would be very much appreciated
Regard Janice

Hi Janice,

The only one I can reliably find is Thomas, since he has the convenient middle initial, but suppose you already have these?

1891
62 Waddell Street, Glasgow Govan
Alexanader Neilans, 21, Head, born Ireland, Storeman Flour Mill
Mary Ann Neilans, 20, Wife, born Ireland
Thomas W Hutchinson, 18, Boarder, born Ireland, Tramway Servant

(Could Mary Ann above be his sister?)

1901
42 William St, Glasgow Anderston, Lanarkshire
Thomas W Hutchison, 29, Head, born Ireland, Police Constable
Christina Hutchison, 19, Wife, born Glasgow, Lanarkshire

All the best,
Sarah

There is a thread for this on Rootschat...

It's always a good idea to let everyone know that you've posted elsewhere, Janice...saves others wasting their time getting you the same information. :)

Hi Janice,

Don't smack yourself too hard! I'm sure all is forgiven. :D (Tried to make this response on RC also but kept getting an error page for some reason).

I've definitely looked for this lot before but can't remember if I posted this or not.

Anyway, I'd be surprised if this wasn't brother William in 1901 at 241 Paisley Road West.

Alexander Verlans 31
Mary Verlans 30
Joseph Verlans 8
Mary Verlans 2
John Verlans 22
Isaac Verlans 17
William Hutchison 25 Police Constable - Boarder
John Quigg 25 Tramway Conductor (my interpretation of transcription) - boarder

Regards,
Annette

What age was Mary when she died?

There is this lady at Coleraine in 1911 although she is probably too old to be the one you are looking for. She is living with her son James age 45.

Hutchinson Mary Jane New Row Coleraine Londonderry 73 F

Hi Nelmit
Thank you
This could be My William and the John Quigg could be a cousin as the mothers ms name is Quigg As for the Mary Jane yes it could be her and she could have moved to Glasgow as I have a death certificate and she died in Glasgow in 1915 age 74. So maybe James and she moved her?
