jane mcpherson, nee stockdale

I have just found Jane stockdale (1875 married to alfred john mcpherson1874-1910)died in france, age 76 in 1951.Rouen,seine-maritime,haute-normandy.she had a daughter born 1906 in lancaster.england.It would be of great interest if it were possible to learn how, why and any other information there would be on jane or her daughter with thanks

The Guild of One Name Studies (http://www.one-name.org/index.html) might be a good place to start. Roy Stockdill, a prolific genealogist who contributes frequently to national magazines, runs a study there which covers the surname both as you spell it and as he does, plus a few other variants as well. On the GOONS home page put one of the variants in the search box and you'll be taken to a page with his contact details.
