Hello steiner,
There is not much in the notice.

Thanks John. Anything about a place of death?
In fact could you email me a copy in a personal message? Thanks again

Re: British Library newspapers
Sorry steiner, I don't actually have a subscription to the site. I used the advanced search facility.
Set the publication title and the dates that you are interested in and then search for "amelia"

Re: British Library newspapers
Sorry again,
I omitted the first half of the report:
White—June 13. at the residence of her son-in-law, the Rev. C. F. Patten, The Bolotwa, Cape of Good Hope,
In her 79th year, Amelia, the beloved wife of J. G. White Esq., Liverpool and Birkenhead.

Not from that site but have a look at http://dl.dropbox.com/u/22414493/amelia.JPG for an image of the death notice from the newspaper mentioned.
I have copied a section to my dropbox account and will leave it there for a short time.

Pleased to admit, after purchasing credits, I was wrong about the charges - they are very reasonable. Had quite a lot of fun and made a few interesting discoveries at the same time. Only problem was the time limit of 2 days before unused credits expire. Grieved me to see my unused credits deleted after we had visitors earlier today and I could not get back on in time to use them.SandySandilands wrote:You can search for free but the subscription fees are pricey in my opinion, with restricted credits and time limits unless you plump for the annual one.
Nevertheless, I've been on there for a couple of hours now because of the free search feature. Literally hundreds of results and it looks like a small number may be of assistance with regard to my own research. Might have to wait until after Christmas before I can afford to view them though at these prices

If you're in Lancashire you can access the 19th Century Newspapers at home for free with your library card. http://www3.lancashire.gov.uk/corporate ... 2874&tab=1
Scroll down to library Library Service and you'll see the link.
