Moray Library Index

Post by Tracey » Mon Aug 22, 2005 12:16 am

Well i had a shock today when i went on the Moray site for the first time in months, what a change ! Graeme and Co have done an excellent job. It also confirmed for me what Justjean and AndrewP found out for me over the weekend.
Graeme Wilson has always been very helpful in my quest to find out about my family(he supplied me with the unsavoury bits !) and i tried to leave a message on their board but found it almost impossible as it kept telling me i had put punctuation in where i hadnt and the site doesnt allow it ! So if any of you at Moray are looking at this WELL DONE !!!

And anyone on this site looking for their forbears should take a look at it

Tracy & Angel,

perhaps you could be good enough to share the URL of the site you have mentioned.

Maybe it was you that i spoke to yesterday regarding and address that was left by a man researching Jane Ogilvie ?

But Graeme i hope that grin lasts a while as you all deserve it there and it should give Scotlandpeople a run for its money

From one of the many colonials !!

ps i also gave it a plug on a British Genealogy site (britishgenealogy.com)

Well Heather, now you offer :D

My gt gt gt grandparents William Donaldson (NM248605) and Mary Shaw ((NM249441) The only census i may have found for her is 1881 at 27 High St Elgin as a widow. I have a 1871 which im not sure about at 125 High St Elgin.
I found a few of her childrens births at 145 High st. William died 4th October 1874 at 55 High St (135/000152) and Mary (i think) died 17th November 1884 at 214 high St ! So as there were so many different addresses for them and so many Donaldson,s in High St Elgin i have never been able to confirm the census !!
There was also a long list of poor relief for these two.

Jane Donaldson (nee Hartley) (NM036351) There are 2 newspaper death entries and an application for poor relief.

What ever you can tell me about the above i will be extreeeeeeeeeemly happy to recieve !
