Treasure Trove of Information online

Post by KazG » Tue Aug 30, 2011 4:04 am

Last night I spent hours, trawling through some very old documents that have been digitised and put online. http://www.archive.org/details/texts
Type your search interest into the search bar and pick what what you want....text, video etc. For digitised books it is text, if you choose PDF from the left column you can download and read at your own pace.
Last night I was reading the Rentall for the County of Perth 1835 and looking at various township directories which have an abundance of info (and fascinating adverts ) as well as lists of people and addresses somewhat like a phone book. There is an abundance of info their for the asking and all free. =D>
DNA sites. FTDNA, Gedmatch, Ancestry :)

Ireland and Scotland - Casey / McDade / Phillips / McCandle / Dinely / Comaskey + various spellings
