Joseph JARDINE/Canada death
Not sure whether I have posted this correctly.
Trying to find the parents of Joseph JARDINE b. 1767 Scotland. Have tried Scotland, but the birth records for Tundergarth, didn't start till 1791.
He died in NB Canada on the 23 January 1849. Could someone help me with this, as his death details may have his parents.
Would also like to find the passenger list for Joseph Jardine. This is the info I have - he sailed to America in the Britania of Cadilo? on the 31 March 1824.
Any help will be very much appreciated.

Re: Joseph JARDINE/Canada death
Hi fortyseven:
The births, deaths and marriages are provincial matters and you would have to check with the Archives of New Brunswick
http://archives.gnb.ca/Archives/Default ... ture=en-CA#
The Drouin Papers sometimes have records for churches other than Roman Catholic, and at times cover areas of NB. They are available through Ancestry.
Contacting the New Brunswick genealogical society may prove helpful www.nbgs.ca
I checked for incoming passengers, but without success http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/gene ... 002-e.html

Re: Joseph JARDINE/Canada death
Hi Frances,
Thank you for all the information.
I seem to recall trying the Archives of New Brunswick sometime ago and, if my memory serves me correctly, there were no recods of Josephs death.Think it was the year, that was the problem.
Will try the New Brunswick genealogical society.
Regards,
fortyseven

Hello Sarah,
No, I haven't seen the Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s.
Where would I look for this, please.
Regards,
Margaret

Re: Joseph JARDINE/Canada death
Hello Margaret,
The index information is only what I posted (I got it off of ancestry.com). What you want is the actual book by Donald Whyte, where Joseph is listed in Volume 2, page 135. I don't know where you are located, but check worldcat.org for the nearest library that has this book. If there is no such library near you, you might be able to either get the book through your local library via interlibrary loan, or order a photocopy of the page. Your local librarian should be able to point you in the right direction.
Good luck!
Sarah

Re: Joseph JARDINE/Canada death
I agree, Well Done =D>
Thank you so much, Frances, very much appreciated
.
That's all the Jardine family (except Thomas, who didn't go) Had hoped it would have given Joseph's parents.
Does it give the name of the ship anywhere.
Kind regards,
fortyseven
