It was a fly trip to the library, just because I knew that book was there. I've used it often. I'm doubtful that the ship's record at that time would have the parents' names. If the death notice were available, that might hold a reference.

Yes, I doubt whether the parents names would have been on the ships record. A death notice may have held a reference.
Finding Joseph's parents, would be the icing on the cake.
