Here are the sculptures in Oamaru. They are so good I thought I'd share them here. Thanks to 'Tails' for taking them and passing them on.

Trish, that was your random act of kindness. Thank you. I'd never heard of this site, I was just browsing through here 10 minutes ago, followed your link, and posted a request there a few minutes later to someone in Auckland. Can you believe she's replied already?Have you tried Random Acts of Genealogical kindness? I have had some very kind assistance from volunteers in Australia and England - I haven't tried NZ

Trish
How did anyone ever get any research done without the aid of the internet?
Best wishes,
Ann

Trish, I've used that site twice now, thanks to you. Both times successfully. Kinda restores your faith in humanity this genealogy lark, doesn't it.

Re: Forums in New Zealand -Cenotaph etc
Greetings from NZ.
Below is the contact person who I supplied up-dated photos to some years ago, re our local Adopt an ANZAC project and the Gt War, WWI Cenotaph, or OBILISK as it was referred to at the unveiling on October 16th 1918, which pre-dated the 11th day of the 11th month. (Much to my surprise.)
A start had been made on collecting photos of all the cenotaphs and memorials throughout NZ. Could be worth a look for those who lost loved ones.
Alan SHARP.
Hukanui then, but now Gordonton, Waikato, NZ.
Kind regards

P.S. Just had a quick look and got lost. Been changes. The memorials are on the http://www.nzhistory.net.nz/library/media then found via a search box. District first and then the town/community within that district. Alan.

Re: Forums in New Zealand
Greetings from New Zealand.
Short answer is YES, there are plenty of Mc Donald's in New Zealand. Some arrived very early in our settlement of New Zealand.
Please supply what info you have to allow the search to be narrowed down. Names, dates, places originated from. If it is living members of the Mc Donald clan, private messages can be exchanged, naming names of interest.

Re: Forums in New Zealand
Greetings Again.
PM recieved. And yes you do have limited infomation to go on, how ever, with some luck and help, that information should grow.
Perhaps a good start would be if the Moderators started you on a new thread of 'Mc DONALD research in NZ'. Then it will be more readily picked up by search engines, and others researching the name McDonald.
