Some NZ search options you may not have tried for the family name McFEETERS.

A name like McFeeters may be shown in old books and newspapers as M’Feeters or McFeeters and may not be correctly read by the digitising software. (OCR)

When searching, as well as McFeeters you could try M’Feeters, M*Feeters or even just Feeters. However search facilities don’t always accept wildcards etc.
