Near Bankfoot there is a place called Obney Hills. Near there are three villages with Obney in there name. Many years ago there was a church named Obney.
My mother's maiden name was Obney. I am trying to find the origin of the name Obney. Did the word have some meaning in one of the ancient languages?
I would appreciate any help in my research. Thank you.
Obney
