I've hit a dead end at my 4th great-grandfather David Crossgrove Cosgrove Crosgrove & also with wife Maria Aitken Broadley.
Can anyone help?
David -
Born about 1798 in (Northern?) Ireland
Died 1 APR 1871 in Crosshill, Kirkmichael, Ayrshire, Scotland
Maria - Aitken appears to be her mothers maiden name while Broadley is her fathers name.
BIRTH ABT. 1812 • Northern Ireland
DEATH 24 FEB 1899 • Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland
He must have married Maria in Ireland (although I have no clue where to find a marriage cert) and immigrated to Ayrshire, Scotland where they worked in the cotton weaving business.
Where would I find their immigration & marriage records? Is anyone related to them on here?
Thanks,
Kirsty

Hi Kirsty,
Ireland is a more difficult prospect for your searching in. I hope someone else here with experience in that field can give you some pointers.
The one point that I will offer you is that there was no Northern Ireland in the 19th century. Ireland was one nation until 1922, as part of the "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland".
All the best,
AndrewP
