my brick wall.....
This whole family is one big brick wall, already totally stump by George, but I am looking for the marriage of George Williamson to Jane Peel, both their birth years are in dispute, they both appear on the 1861 Calton census, ages 31 & 30, which would make them born 1830/31, but Jane died 1904 age 62 which would make her birth 1842, can’t find George after 1861, their sons were born 1857 & 1861, Jane remarried in 1870, help please

I had a look at your previous post about this family and couldn't see that you had the 1841 census for Jane. Here they are living in Bridgeton just in case you don't have it.
This confirms Jane's birth year as 1831.

Thanks, yes I have this, also I have baby William's death cert, 1861 Bridgeton, it was not his father who was the informant, it was uncle John, but can't find his birth, should be 1860 not 1861 as I said prev.,
I seem to be spending a fortune on this family
just found Williams birth, he was Illegitimate, born 1860

Hi Thomsos,
I noticed the family on the 1841 census. Posted by Annette.
Issac and his wife Christine??.
On the 1851 census, Isaac Peel aged 40,and Constance 38 are in Glasgow with Margaret 16 Jane 18
I take it that two brothers were involved with two sisters.
George and John Williamson and Jane and Margaret Peel.
Isaac Williamson Peel was born in Bridgeton September 1859, mother Margaret Peel, Isaac died in 1860.
John Williamson married Margaret Peel in December the same year.
I can find no record of George married to Jane, but as you have stated, she is married to John McLaren in 1870.

Thank you,
I do have all this info, it is just the george's (senior and jnr.) I have the problems with, can't find the death of Geo senior, maybe he just uped and left, there is one on the 1881 census that could be him, birth date 1831, weaver, living as a bord., and can't find the birth of Geo. jnr or his death, he was still living 1908 Bridgeton, when his second wife Eliz died.
