What changes if any are we going to see with the New Scotlands People website?

I've no idea what the new site will look like. Last time there was a change in ownership, in 2002, it went

from this https://web.archive.org/web/20010517044 ... s.net/GRO/

to this https://web.archive.org/web/20020904202 ... le.gov.uk/

All the best,
Alan

A good number of months back, I was shown an early concept version of the new operator's idea for the ScotlandsPeople website. The look of it was significantly changed from what we are used to, as were some of the functions. There is little point of me describing it now, as that was only a concept version, and it will probably have evolved significantly since.

We will all know by the end of the month.

All the best,

What a lot of hullabaloo over on FB over SP not restarting today. I'd rather they waited until all problems were resolved before opening up and then having to close down again. Patience is needed for some.

I agree Ina. The records aren't going anywhere and I'm sure SP will add a few days to your account if you have credits.

Annette

Just saw the "new" look. Will take some time to get used to.

Had to change my password (didn't have a capital letter in the old one). Will log on for the next year & forget that letter.

And it has joined the in fashion "boxy" look of web sites. I do not do change very well. Still fighting my bank website that did the same.

Some new records available. I've found some new ancestors in the 'other church' records. :D

Different costing - free to view the index, 6 credits to view the record. Free RCEs.

New styling - I'm sure we will all get used to it.

All the best,

I wasn't ready to check anything so didn't pick that up - thanks Andrew - that is most useful as I've often spent quite a few credits index searching.
