My dad was in ww2 he came from possilpark,what was the regiment he would have been in, I think I remember him mentioning the hli

Hello Cathy,

I don't think it's possible to definitely link someone to a particular WW2 regiment, such as the Highland Light Infantry, based on their residential address. But if he said he was HLI then he probably was.

WW2 British Army service records are still held by the Ministry of Defence and have not been released online anywhere.
