That’s fantastic Hugh,
I’ve just been looking at the Australian ports. On the Live Map there’s a huge collection of 50 or more Cargo Vessels anchored offshore just north of Sydney, NSW. They’re probably all waiting for a cargo of coal from Newcastle.
One of these days they’ll probably have one of these maps for people!

Hi Alan yes this is a very good site you see the ships in the English Channel very busy there is another link here.
This works with Google Earth
Copy this shortcut to your desktop. If you have Google earth already installed use this shortcut to open up the program.
It gives you the postions of ships up to 30 miles offshore. It does not move in real time, to get the latest position just
Close then open the program again. Click on the ships to get photo and information.
