Hi Annette,
She died in Galashiels 29/01/1863 aged 63 her married name was Bruce.
She also appears on the 1861 census in Galashiels. I do not see to have the 1841 or 1851 census for her (I thought I did search) Thats now on my "to-do" list

Regards

It's ok I found her.

She's at Galashiels in 1861 as Euphenia with husband John and the granweans. In 1851 she's transcribed as Brure (Ancestry) at the same address as 1841.

I was trying to find out if she was born at Glasgow and sure enough she was.

Regards,
Annette

Hello McBrucie,

I searched for the term "manufacturer in Glasgow" in newspapers of the 1820’s and there are hundreds of results and I would say that less than 5% of those mention the type of manufacturer. There’s nothing for Ballantyne unfortunately.

It appears to be a similar situation with Google Books of the same time period.
