i am having trouble finding john devine on the 1911 census. he should be in hamilton wih his new wife elizabeth crooks/mathieson and in the household possbly thomas devine 28 catherine devine 25 mary devine 21 and william 18 should be there and his wife would be 53 and john should be 52
Scotland - SINCLAIR/ALLISON/MCALLUM/ROY/DONALDSON
Ireland - DEVINE/MCGARRY/MULLEN/MULDOON

Hi Garydevine:

You are going to have to bite the bullet on this one because they are all very common names.

If you search for John Devine, male, 51-53 there are only 3 hits for all of Scotland. If you add a second person, William, there are only 2 occurrences. If you combine William, male, 17 -18 and add John, there are only 2 hits.

It would be worth the point to look at John Devine, male, 51-53, adding William as a second person without naming a location, because there are too many variations for the name Elizabeth.

My granny was Agnes Devine and her father William,but sometimes the spelling has been DIVINE,DIVEN and Devan so I also have a bother.
My granny married a John Cassidy and theres so many Cassidys out there as well,LOL.

Garry, only back to 1800s so far,quite a lot of Mother unknown etc on some certs,but I keep plodding on,LOL
Wish you all the best in search for yours.I know Devine is a very popular name I have one next door and two along the rd,but,NO RELATION,LOL :(

hahaha i know there is another family up where i live and there is another two families down in blantyre hahaha was gonna say maybe we are realted but my great great great grandfatherr james only had two sons and only one of them settled down and had a family and then all his children died young without being married or having kids apart from one my great grandfather lol shame hahaha good luck i need to go to ireland now to get to mine in lietrim :)
