Census help

Post by crayspond » Thu Jan 19, 2012 9:30 pm

Hi All,

I am flitting between Ireland and Scotland at the moment - this part involves the Scottish part. If you look at the Irish forum you can catch up a bit - basically i found Ellen Douglas (nee McFarlane) in Whiteinch Partick on the 1891 census. However i can't find her in the 1901 census in Ireland (where her daughter Elizabeth is living with a relative).
Can anyone look at the Ellen below living in Fenwick Ayr as this would be her exact age. My credits are quickly running out on SP!
Thanks
Ailsa

Hi Annette,

Many thanks for looking for me. It is not my Ellen. So it looks like she didn't die in Scotland. I spent some time on Emerald looking for deaths for Ellen and Alexander - There is one for an Ellen Douglas in 1917 but why would she not show on the 1901 and 1911 census with her daughter if she died in 1917? also an Alexander Douglas died 1898 in County of Down - it doesn't give much else except late of Shankhill Loughbrickland. ](*,) (been wanting to use that icon).
