Exchange of Spare Information

Scottish censuses from 1841 to 1891 contain much valuable information.

It's not the main purpose of TalkingScot to act as a site for the exchange of such information. Instead we would refer you to specialist sites which deal with such exchanges, such as http://www.sctbdm.com/ run by Sue Lund.

Note that it is a breach of Crown copyright to supply someone else with a copy of the TIFF image of a census entry from ScotlandsPeople.

However, the information itself is public domain, so that there is nothing to prevent the supply of a transcription of the information.
