Hi Sally,

Did the person for whom the DC is for have any female siblings, or did their spouse? Did any of them marry a Mr Aitken?

That is, I think, the way to solve this mystery. It certainly solved a couple of mine. It even uprooted rellies I'd never even heard of before AND increased my spend with SP (just thought you needed to be aware of how these things can escalate  )!

Well peeps I think it looks like Susan and I have even gone as far as to find a marriage cert in Tillicoultry for a James Aitken and Susan Marshall.

So if Grace Aitken had a brother called William then it is possible that Susan is related to them.

The plot thickens lol!

I will try and post the image when the boss isn't looking lol

Annie
I see what you mean about the first letter maybe being an S. I am looking into that possibility.
I hope you haven't been using up your SP credits on my goosehunt - Anyway, even if I succeed in proving Grace's parents, that will lay down only one of the many stepping stones required along the path to proving my "GREAT BIG THEORY of George Hunter " , a theory which is getting so complex I may need to write it in a margin somewhere and hope that someone proves it in 200 year's time by using resources as yet undiscovered ... .

Thanks again, I'll let you know if I uncover anything .
