Hi Dennis

The branch that came to the US were in Watertown township, Jefferson County, New York in the 1900 census. Edward Rich born Mar 1867and married 14 years is a papermaker, wife Elizabeth born Aug 1866, daughters Jenette? b June 1887 Scotland, Agnes b Oct 1888 Scotland, Maggie B. b May 1892 Scotland, Elizabeth b Nov 1896 New York. Immigration year for all is 1892 save for Edward who looks like he came in 1888 and states 12 years in country while all others are 8 years.

In 1910 still in Watertown we have Edward Ritch age 46 a laborer at what looks like Brick Works. Daughters Jenette age 24 Stenographer and single, Agnes age 22 Clerk and single, Maggie age 17 housekeeper. No sign of either Elizabeth but Edward looking like he's still stating Married 25 years. Maybe Elizabeth has just died???

in 1930 there is Edward Ritch still in Watertown only with a wife named Robina. He age 66, she 58. Looks like his employment is as a physical therapist? at the Hospital. Robina immigrated in 1903 and was born Scotland as were her parents. Edward owns the house and values it at 3000. Address stated as 1010 Superior Street.

Does any of this fill in any blanks??

Best wishes
Jean

Was wondering how to include Robina as she was born between dads in Aug. 12, 1878.

Hello Dennis,

I hadn't noticed that! 'William died 27 years ago and Robina is 24' :?

Robina's age is definitely right as she is on the 1881 census age 2. Have you checked the information Margaret gave about William's death?

Hi Dennis

All that came from the US census records...1900, 1910, and 1930.

I have no way of being certain the 1930 chap is the same one other than location. I questioned the occupation....but then you never know!
