If you follow Anne through the census records there seems no doubt that she is the daughter of Laurence (or Lemona  as the 1861 states) and Catherine.

Do you know what happened to her daughter - she seems to disappear after 1861?

Regards,
Annette
Hi nelmit:)

In the 1871 census there is an Ann Lennox age 37 as the head of the family along with a male widower aged 70 named Duncan Kippen; the census has her as unmarried, tho there are 2 children a daughter 13 and a son age 3. I'll upload the census and post it here:

Hi Dennis,

Duncan Kippen is under schedule number 1, and is listed as head of his household. Ann Lennox is head of her household (schedule number 2). The implication is that they were neighbours.

Have you looked at the childrens' birth certificates to see what they say about the parents?

All the best,

AndrewP

Hi AndrewP :)

The birth record for the boy David has him listed as illegitimate.

I have sent off an email to the Perth & Kinross Archive to see if they have any information regarding her admission to the Upper Strathearn Combination Poorhouse.
