Just a thought

Stuart, I re-read your original posts and don't see mention of when you reckon they moved from England to Scotland although a child is born in 1912. With that in mind have you looked at the 1911 English census to confirm they are not still there?

I have a similar gap from 1886 to 1893 in Canada which sadly is proving to be very elusive :?

:( Unfortunately Middlesborough was in the North Riding (of Yorkshire) in 1911 and that's not been released yet.
However it should be there by the end of the month :)

Hi Annie and Meg

I hadn't checked the 1911 census yet as previously I thought John had been born in Scotland, however after getting the Certificate on Friday confirming it was England I checked the census after your mail but could not find them. I've since read Meg's mail and I think I now may have to wait a week or two as I didn't know that certain areas still had to be released so thanks to both of you for the prod and I'll be waiting in the sidelines here.

I've been doing a wee troll through BMD and found 1 hit for a "Cameron" child being born in 1908 and dying in 1909 which ties in with a child being born every 2 years or so and also the rumour of another child dying. Unfortunately the names Norman and Henry do not tie in with any known family names but who knows. I may take a wee chance on this and order the cert just in case

Births Sep 1908 CAMERON Norman Henry Middlesbro' 1 9d 617
Deaths Dec 1909 CAMERON Norman Henry 1 Middlesbro' 1 9d 340

Thanks again to both of you
Stuart

Stuart,

The North Riding has come online :)
The bad news is I can't find any trace of your Camerons there :(

Perhaps someone else will have better luck..........there are plenty of mistranscriptions!

Best wishes,
Meg
