Looked at the BC for Andrew Cameron born illegitimate to Isabella Cameron on the 24th June 1858. Looks like it could be him on the 1861 C aged 3 with the rest of the Cameron Family .

Also looked at suggested marriage between Isebala / Isabella and David Martin on the 12th July 1867. Isabella 's age is given as 39 making her birth C 1828, doesn't fit in with the Isabella on either the 1851 or 1861 c . Although the ages given (4 & 20) don't tie up either.

Am getting totally confused now

Hi Frances,

My feeling is that the age 20 for Isabella in 1861 was wrong, and should have been 14, the same as William. The 13 for William in 1851 is a mistranscription - if you look at it, it should be 4, the same as given for Isabella. Having seen the other marks on the paper in the digital image, I can see how the 4 ended out transcribed as 13. So that Isabella was born around 1846-1847.

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for help/ advice. Not much further forward I'm afraid. Can't find birth of Isabel,William or Hugh.

Did find birth for Andrew ,illegitimate child of Isabel

Can still find no death record for Helen (George) James's first wife.
