Hi all:

Thanks for peeking, I cant find the blessed woman anywhere, either spelling, I'm going to assume she and her husband Hugh were born in Ireland, on an earlier census search, their daughter Bridget has a birthplace of Ire. I'll be plodding along now.......thanks again, you folks are terrific!!

Karen :)
Make it a great day!

McAlay isn't usual in Ireland but McAuley and umteen spelling vesions ARE very common.

With a Campbell we're probably talking Antrim (about 95% positive on that call).

The name may also have meant to be McClay, MacLay, still Antrim with some in Donegal.
Searching for Keogh, Kelly, Fitzgerald, Riddell, Stewart, Wilson, McQuilkin, Lynch, Boyle, Cairney, Ross, King, McIlravey, McCurdy, Drennan and Woods (to name but a few).

Also looking for any information on Rathlin Island, County Antrim, Ireland.

Andy:

Thank you, Im going to put my money on Donegal, other family members are from that same area, now I have some variations to try. Iwill also check Antrim as well should I not find a Donegal connection.
Have a wonderful day!!
