Hi Ian
...death notice between 1851 census report and 1855. he shows as robert wilson aged 35,in the 1851, at knockbain, ross & cromarty...
I have a similar problem - a death between 1851-55, and have not found anything so far. The area where the death I'd like to pinpoint occurred was Fearn, Easter Ross, which was a Free Church parish at that time. The church records for Fearn are at NAS at CH3/962/8 but I don't think there are any deaths noted as far as I remember. Also the MIs for many Ross & Cromarty areas are not published - not sure about Knockbain, as its in the Black Isle, for which there are some MIs, but there is nothing for Easter Ross. See:

hi lesley, thanks. yes i have all the m.i.s for the black isle but no trace of him or my g.g.mother,yet they are both known to be buried in suddie kirkyard,in the knockbain area,as is my g.g.parents,alexander and ann jack. there seems to be a blank area between 1851 and 1855,i will try the registrars in dingwall and fortrose when i next get up.
i have ordered a book from the library"pre 1855 burial records for sutherland"i don't know what is in it,might be of some interest to you. i have only recently started researching my mothers people. munros, murrays, mackays, mcdonalds and calders. they seem to have been centered around the creich area.
thanks again ian
ian

There must be lair records somewhere - local council? Inverness?
I don't know who you'd contact, but this looks like it might be a good starting point.
