Hi Jean,
Just to let you know this Blackley family, gets worse, with some assistance from Andrew P., I`ve discovered more ilegitimate kids, from three of the sisters.
1) Margaret Blackley (1831) had two, before her marriage to James Hunter.
Blackley John : b.20 Nov 1857 at Carluke
Blackley Christina : b.29 Feb 1860 at Carluke
both children were born Blackleys, but on the 1861 census they have the surname Graham (obviously the fathers).

2) Janet Blackley (circa 1845) had two before her marriage to Andrew Hamilton
Blackley James : b.9 Aug 1865 at Carluke, (father unknown)
Blackley William Carmichael : b.24 Jan 1868 at Carluke (father Unknown)

3) Jane (Jeanie) Blackley (1837) also had two.
Blackley Jane : b.7 Apr 1860 at Carluke, (father Unknown). And of course William Johnston Blackley, who`s birth we cant find.

Another problem has arisen, John & Christina Blackley (Graham) are on the 1861 census, residing with their grandparents, but there is another two grandchildren Mary McMarron (10) and Margaret Cairns (7), both these children cant be traced either. Talk about being kicked when your down!!.
