Here goes

Looks like his wife's maiden name was Findlater too. Can't make out the first name at all.

His father was Alexander Findlater, meal miller.

His mother's name looks like Mary Riach or Mary Diack.

Any more offers?

Jean

Don't have a clue what the wife's name is but could the mother's maiden name be Clark?

Nice one Merlot :)

Tish.....looks like someone else is researching this family too. Have a look at the IGI for the marriage submissions.

There is a submitted entry for the death of George Frederick Findlater on the IGI which says father Alexander, mother Mary Ann Clark and wife HELEN Findlater.
Somebody else obviously interested in this family.

Cheers,

Hi Folks,

Thank you all very much!!! It looks like Clarke and Findlater is correct, though funny enough I queried Black too. Must go to IGI now. Not really confident of a connection but the story was so like any the one Gertie told me I just couldn't let it go. Any other brave if foolish pipers around that any one knows about?!
