I think it's
gradual ossification the result of arterial effusion to the left pleura.
Might not make medical sense of course but it sounds painful.

This is almost impossible to read and uses an older term.
I think it say 'gradual anoxiation in the reach of extensive effusion into the left pleura.'
In other words - a gradual build up of fluid in the left pleural cavity reducing the lungs ability to take up oxygen. Slow asphyxia. What a lingering way to go!
the commonest cause of fluid build up tended to be lung cancer although she was an out-door worker and could have had Farmer's lung which is an allergic reaction caused by spores on mouldy chaff.
