You’re right of course…Ms. wasn’t invented at that time…I was just being a little flippant!
On that note though, the signature for “? Binnie” might very well be that of A. Binnie who might be Ann Paterson Binnie who married Robert Godfrey in 1854. They had a daughter Mary Godfrey who married Peter Hogg. Peter was the son of Peter Hogg who was Janet Hogg’s brother…that’s the Janet who married James Ferguson from the Parish of Kincardine. Anyway, Peter and Janet’s father was John Hogg and John’s brother James Hogg was married to Margaret Paterson. So the witness called ____ Paterson might be connected here.
I’ve known all along there was a connection to Paterson and also recognized the name Binnie but didn’t really connect it since I’m way behind on getting all my info into my system. Of course, I might be completely wrong and H Binnie??? is not Ann Paterson Binnie but someone else.
