Hi Karen,

I know from the censuses and poor relief applications that their oldest child was Martha(b.1846), but I can't find any record of Mary Ann being hers and she probably was a bit young. However I have thought that maybe Mary Ann was born to a sister of Richards and adopted by Richard and his wife. Unfortunately I don't know if any of Richards siblings came over with him from Ireland.

I'm beginning to think I'll never solve this mystery!
