Glaschoine House

Post by Laura » Thu Dec 29, 2005 7:36 pm

I am happy to be able to post a follow up on the McKELLARs of Glaschoine, near Cairndow, Argyll. A current owner of Glaschoine House found this thread while searching online and contacted me. A search of the records at the centre, Here We Are, at Cairndow confirms that my ancestors did indeed live in the existing house; I get goose bumps just thinking about it. I eagerly await hard copies of information found at the centre and pictures of grave stones, houses and the parish church. Once again, I am touched by the kindness of strangers.

Thank you, Dave, for building sites for us to post on. Thank you Annette, Andrew and John for your interest and generosity over the years; yes, it is now years. And Malcolm for your comic relief.

Rosemary, thank you for sharing your passion for Scotland and bravely ringing up strangers in Argyll.

Kindest Regards,
Laura

A brilliant example of the reason why TalkingScot was set up in the first place, and the tremendous assistance that is provided by many TS members to others !! Making such "cold" telephone calls is not an easy task.
